Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned So if you are looking to replace or backup a Mac Pro, I highly recommend this seller and this unit. The Mac Pro 2010 added sever features that I didn't have on my Mac Pro 2009 including WiFI, Dual Display Ports, High Sierra support. Thus I went to the process described above. But I ran problems with software and user permissions. Note: I did try using Migration Assistant to update a clean High Sierra drive. I was able to go direct ly into High Sierra from the APP Store.Īlthough I had issues with software some of which required new licensing, the experience was a success. It did require a firmware upgrade which was a quick and flawless procedure.Īfter some work using Migration Assistant, see below, I then pulled the drive, loaded a clone of my old Mac Pro's startup drive and the computer started right up into OSX El Capitan. Was able to log in and then upgrade to High Sierra. I connected it to my display and powered it up. The Mac Pro 2010 arrived on New Years Eve day and was very well packaged. (Note: I used dd and super-duper for disk cloning and image creation during different phases of the process) After checking and imaging my Start Up drive using my MacBook Pro and a hard drive Doc, I ordered this computer. I woke up on Christmas Day to find that my Mac Pro Early 2009 had stopped working.
